Senior Project Quality Lead Major Offshore Oil & Gas Development – France
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Project Quality Lead to join a major international offshore oil & gas development project during the execution phase.
This role will be responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining the Project Quality Management framework across multiple project packages including SURF, SPS, FPSO, Drilling & Wells, and associated offshore infrastructure scopes. The position plays a key role in driving execution performance, interface management, continuous improvement, and management of change across a large multidisciplinary project organisation.
Key Responsibilities Project Quality Management

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Management System (QMS) throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements, contractual obligations, technical standards, and company referentials
  • Prepare and manage internal and external audit programmes for contractors and subcontractors
  • Review and challenge contractor quality documentation including Quality Plans, ITPs, procedures, and audit schedules
  • Maintain project quality registers, procedures, specifications, and associated documentation
  • Capture and implement lessons learned from comparable offshore developments
  • Promote strong ethics, compliance, and anti-corruption practices across all interfacing activities

Management of Change (MoC)

  • Act as focal point for the Management of Change process across all project packages
  • Ensure all changes impacting scope, cost, schedule, quality, and technical requirements are properly assessed and governed
  • Coordinate MoC interfaces between engineering, project controls, HSE, contracts, and package teams
  • Support package managers with risk assessment and impact evaluation related to project changes
  • Ensure full traceability between changes, risks, actions, and lessons learned
  • Escalate critical or cumulative changes impacting project delivery objectives

Quality Coordination & Performance

  • Coordinate quality activities across all project packages and contractors
  • Lead regular project quality reviews to identify risks, non-conformities, and interface issues
  • Coordinate surveillance activities including audits, inspections, and yard visits
  • Support timely resolution of quality issues and corrective actions
  • Monitor contractor quality performance and recurring deviations
  • Contribute to KPI development, dashboards, and performance reporting
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote a strong project quality culture

HSSE & Governance

  • Ensure HSSE principles are fully embedded within all quality processes and project interfaces
  • Support partner and stakeholder quality workshops and governance meetings
  • Provide regular reporting to project leadership on quality performance, trends, and key risks
  • Contribute to project close-out and lessons learned activities

Candidate Profile

  • Engineering degree, MSc, or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience within Oil & Gas projects, including offshore developments
  • Proven experience in a Quality Engineer, Quality Lead, or similar role on complex EPC/EPCI projects
  • Strong experience in transversal coordination, interface management, and project governance
  • Excellent understanding of Quality Management Systems, audits, non-conformance management, and continuous improvement processes
  • Experience managing Management of Change (MoC) processes within major projects
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in multicultural project environments
  • Proactive, structured, and solutions-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work across multiple disciplines and package teams in a fast-paced execution environment
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is considered an advantage

Assignment Details

  • Residential position based in the Paris area
  • International travel required to contractor sites, fabrication yards, and project locations
  • Long-term renewable contract opportunity through project completion
