Position: Senior Estimator
Location: Opa-Locka, FL (HQ)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $120,000 – $150,000
Overview
A well-established South Florida general contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their preconstruction team based out of their Opa-Locka headquarters. This individual will play a key role in leading the estimating process for complex ground-up and large-scale projects. Experience with high-rise construction is a major plus, along with exposure to healthcare and/or skilled nursing facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the estimating and preconstruction process for large-scale commercial projects
- Prepare conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, and GMP proposals
- Manage the full bid process including subcontractor outreach, bid leveling, and proposal review
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors
- Coordinate internally with project management, operations, and executive leadership during preconstruction
- Ensure all preconstruction documentation and communication flows efficiently both internally and externally
- Assist with project turnover to operations once awarded
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates
Qualifications
- 10+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction
- Strong experience with high-rise and/or multifamily construction (high-rise experience strongly preferred)
- Experience on projects $100M+ in construction value
- Experience with bids, proposals, budgets, and GMP development
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Strong subcontractor management and bid administration experience
- BIM experience preferred
