About the Company An established commercial mechanical contractor serving the Austin and Central Texas market is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager. The company specializes in HVAC, plumbing, piping, and full mechanical system installations for commercial, healthcare, education, and institutional projects, with a strong reputation for quality craftsmanship and field execution.
Position Summary The Senior Mechanical Project Manager will lead large-scale commercial mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, procurement, and client relationship management to ensure safe, on-time, and profitable project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full lifecycle of commercial HVAC and plumbing construction projects
- Oversee buyout, procurement, subcontractor coordination, and vendor management
- Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules
- Coordinate closely with general contractors, architects, engineers, and owners
- Monitor field progress and ensure safety and quality standards are met
- Manage change orders, cost tracking, and monthly financial forecasting
- Mentor project engineers and support project teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- 10+ years of commercial mechanical construction experience
- 5+ years in a project management leadership role
- Experience managing projects $5M+
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical building systems
- Strong financial, leadership, and communication skills
