About the Company A leading commercial mechanical contractor based in Houston is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager to oversee large-scale building projects across healthcare, education, corporate, and mixed-use sectors. The company specializes in HVAC, plumbing, piping, and full mechanical system installations, delivering high-quality, schedule-driven construction projects.
Position Summary The Senior Mechanical Project Manager will lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, client communication, and overall project execution to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full lifecycle of commercial HVAC and plumbing construction projects
- Oversee estimating handoff, buyout, subcontractor management, and procurement
- Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets
- Lead coordination with general contractors, architects, engineers, and owners
- Monitor field progress and ensure quality and safety compliance
- Manage change orders, cost control, and monthly financial forecasting
- Mentor project engineers and support staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in commercial mechanical construction
- 5+ years in a project management leadership role
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical building systems
- Experience managing projects $5M+ in value
- Proficiency with construction management and scheduling software
- Strong leadership and communication skills
