A well-established mechanical contractor in the Lubbock, TX market is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Shop Superintendent to lead and oversee operations in their fabrication facility. Position Overview:
The Sheet Metal Shop Superintendent will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the sheet metal fabrication shop, including workforce management, scheduling, quality control, and coordination with project teams. This role is a critical leadership position, ensuring that shop production supports both field operations and overall company goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all sheet metal shop activities, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met.
- Supervise and mentor a team of sheet metal fabricators, apprentices, and shop personnel.
- Schedule and prioritize shop work to meet project deadlines.
- Coordinate with project managers, field superintendents, and estimating teams to align shop output with project needs.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, building codes, and industry best practices.
- Manage inventory, materials, and equipment to maintain efficient shop operations.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in sheet metal fabrication with at least 2 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and sheet metal fabrication techniques, equipment, and processes.
- Proven ability to lead teams, schedule workloads, and manage production efficiently.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills across departments.
