Role: Control & Instrument Engineer
Location: Field based, Shikhan Area
Open To: Locals only

Job Purpose The Control & Instrument Engineer will work under supervision to undertake Control and Instrument upgrades as required.

Key Responsibilities and Competencies

  • Upholding HSE policy and procedures
  • Managing Control and Instrument design contractors to ensure scopes meet operational and technical requirements
  • Assisting other members of the Instrument Discipline and gaining technical expertise
  • Understanding requirements of international standards pertaining to Control and Instrument
  • Preparing technical specifications, scopes of work, inspection and test requirements, and material requisitions
  • Conducting technical evaluation of vendor quotations including preparation of technical bid comparisons
  • Assisting with preparation of project plans, schedules, equipment cost estimation and status reports
  • Reviewing and commenting on vendor documentation, compiling comments from other disciplines
  • Participating in inspections and testing of control and Instrument equipment
  • Finalizing vendor documentation
  • Participating in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL assessment and Design Reviews
  • Specifying and ordering bulk materials for instrument scopes
  • Gaining experience with ICSS, PLC systems, Fire and Gas Systems, Process instruments, Control Valves, ESDVs, Wellhead Control Panels, Hydraulic Control Systems, Oil Metering, and compressor controls
  • Working with High H2S environments

Responsibilities and Key Objectives Objective: To assist in the production of Control and Instrument design deliverables, procurement activities and material deliveries.

  • Deliver engineering deliverables in a timely fashion
  • Progress procurement activities in accordance with the schedule
  • Deliver fully tested equipment to site

Education Degree in Engineering

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Good communication and ability to work as part of a multi-discipline and multi-cultural team
  • Ability to work with hard reporting lines and dotted-line responsibilities
  • Fluent in English language (demonstrated verbal and written skills)
  • Computer literate
  • Minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience (Essential)
  • Qualified to Degree level or equivalent
  • Team player capable of working with personnel from diverse backgrounds
  • Willingness and ability to develop skill set through on-the-job training
  • Self-starter with strong desire to deliver superior results
  • Strong presentation, communication and written skills
  • Logical thinking and analytical skills
