WRS is partnered with a leading company in the chemical industry to hire a Control Systems Lead to lead a team of 6 Controls Systems Engineers in Geismar. This role will support plant operations, maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives in instrumentation and process controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Control Systems team, ensuring high performance and technical excellence.
- Manage DCS OPEX projects, plant modifications, and small-scale technical projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for DeltaV, Triconex, and other configurable control systems.
- Ensure compliance with Management of Change (MOC) procedures, company policies, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and Projects teams to support plant performance and continuous improvement.
- Supervise contractors and coordinate with Engineering and Projects teams during design, construction, and startup phases.
- Maintain technical standards, procedures, and documentation for Instrumentation and Electrical systems.
- Provide guidance on Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) calculations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical or Electrical preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Instrumentation/Control Systems Engineering (DCS), preferably in chemical, refining, or petrochemical industries.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineers and technical teams.
- Strong technical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of DCS systems, low/medium/high voltage systems, project management, and industry standards.
