A leading mechanical contracting firm with a long-standing reputation for excellence across the Carolinas is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager to join its Raleigh-area team. Role Overview The Senior Mechanical Project Manager will take ownership of large-scale mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role requires a combination of leadership, technical expertise, and business acumen to manage multiple high-value projects while mentoring project teams and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all phases of mechanical construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Serve as the primary client interface, ensuring clear communication and successful project delivery.
  • Oversee BIM coordination and collaborate with design teams to resolve technical and field challenges.
  • Ensure projects meet company standards for safety, quality, and profitability.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to Project Managers, Assistant PMs, and field teams.
  • Support preconstruction and business development efforts by providing technical input and cost insights.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience managing commercial mechanical (HVAC and plumbing) projects.
  • Proven success delivering $10M–$30M+ mechanical scopes in commercial or institutional settings.
  • Deep understanding of project engineering, cost control, submittals, RFIs, and procurement processes.
  • Proficiency in construction management platforms such as Procore, BlueBeam, or Smartsheet.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
