Earlier this month, John Gomez (Senior Recruitment Consultant) and Curtis Stewart (Senior Vice President of Construction US) attended one of the largest renewables networking events around the globe. The RE+ Conference in Las Vegas welcomes thousands of people from across the industry to discuss the latest in the sector and share expertise and entrepreneurship to propel the renewables space.
In this blog, we’re looking at what unfolded at this year’s event and learning what John and Curtis got up to.
What is the RE+ Conference all about?
In 2023 alone, 40,000 clean energy professionals gathered at the RE+ Conference, which was hosted across several sites in the city from September 11-14th. The major event offers a great opportunity for people to connect from across the renewable energy industry as the marketplace evolves.
RE+ was developed by the Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA) and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) – two of the country’s leading solar energy providers. First hosted back in 2004, the event is now larger than ever.
Anaheim, California, will host the 2024 RE+ Conference – where there will be even more on the horizon to discuss.
Our first year at the RE+ Conference
2023 marks the first year WRS has ventured to the well-known conference. Both John and Curtis were able to get a good feel for what’s happening in the US renewables sector and welcomed the opportunity to connect with past, present, and potential clients.
From Solar Engineers and Project Managers to Vice Presidents and beyond, they were in their element, meeting people from within renewable energy. This allowed them to better understand current challenges and different verticals within firms they’d like to work with.

They learned more about the businesses supplying equipment to the renewable energy sector, like solar suppliers, gaining a greater understanding of solar projects and the industry as a whole.
