Concrete Project Manager / Estimator

Job description

POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Manage and prioritize bids and estimates as needed for concrete projects and oversee contract reviews to ensure correct project scope

· Manage pre-bid documents and schedule

· Attend pre-bid meetings

· Takeoff quantities accurately per construction plans and documents

· Collaborate with clients to provide options as well as ensure scope gaps are avoided for potential projects

· Lead projects and work closely with superintendents to create project schedules and crew assignments. Remain actively involved to ensure the project remains on schedule through to the completion of the project

· Professionally and timely communication with clients

· Correctly track materials, process change orders timely, process monthly billings and invoice coding

· Manage material procurement and delivery

· Track job costs to maintain reasonable forecast to completion

· Build relationships in the industry and generate new avenues of revenue

· Generate/Track submittals

· Accurate invoice coding

· Assess and identify job risks that could impede the reputation, safety, security, or financial success of the division

· Help and provide estimating support as needed for other offices or locations within the Company

· Promote and maintain Company safety culture and program

· Communicate weekly with manager regarding estimating and sales

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED

· 5+ years of engineering design, estimator / project Management in Concrete Construction or similar, required or 3+ years engineering design

· Degree in engineering, design, construction management, concrete construction materials, or concrete construction, plus

· Ability to read and interpret construction plans

· High-level organizational skills with multi-tasking capabilities and detail-oriented

· Flexible and can make quick, smart decisions under pressure

· Strong leadership and communication skills

· Ability to build rapport within and outside the company

· Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Suite (Excel experience is a must), Planswift, FTP Downloading, Dropbox and Pro Core, BlueBeam, etc.

· Basic understanding of math, algebra and geometry skills required.

· Ability to think like an owner, work hard and have fun.
