Development Lead 

WRS are recruiting for a Development Lead to join an experienced renewable energy developer in London or Italy. 

You will be developing of Wind and PV projects in Italy, bringing and growing your expertise and talent to nourish our common vision of providing pure energy. As a Development Lead, you will proactively originate wind and solar business in Italy, focusing on the company targets. You will be directly responsible for impacting the company’s growth, profitability and strategic direction developing key, strategic relationship with land originators, land agents and other major local stakeholders. This position requires regular travel within Italy if London based.

Main tasks and activities:
  • Development and origination process supervision of the Italian Wind, BESS and Solar pipeline;
  • Negotiation of origination roles responsibilities and deliverables;
  • Communication with relevant stakeholders (originators, site-finders, land agents, etc.);
  • Regulations basic knowledge of the local market legislation, subsidiary schemes etc.;
  • Presentation and reporting on projects towards the internal investment committee;
  • Control of development targets.
The successful applicant will possess expertise in:
  • Origination – Deep, proven understanding of ‘greenfield’ development process for wind, solar and battery projects in Italy.
  • Management – Brilliant Project Management skills on large scale utility size projects.
  • Energy Markets - Understanding of the electricity market principles in Italy, including but not limited to interaction with grid operators (TSO and distribution companies), knowledge of the Italian regulatory framework and development roadmaps.
  • Wind Technology - Demonstrated knowledge of Wind technology and costs. Basic knowledge of ancillary technologies (e.g. batteries, T&D networks, hybrids, etc.).
  • Project Development - Ultimately, having good experience in project development and a virtuous track record when it comes to delivery, contractual negotiation and closing are vital for this role.
