Instrumentation and Control Engineer

Job Purpose
 
We are looking for an experienced Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join a dynamic project in Rome. The ideal candidate should have experience in EPC project execution and the FEED stage, with comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction, including field experience to continue through the construction phase.
 
Key Responsibilities and Duties
 
  • Provide practical and effective technical solutions to operational engineering challenges.
  • Assess existing and new manufacturers within their area of expertise for technical competence and compliance.
  • Conduct technical studies on project-related issues and prepare detailed reports for technical and management review.
  • Evaluate engineering and design proposals for major projects.
  • Develop and review engineering and design documentation, including procedures, standards, and specifications
  • Demonstrate experience in HAZOP/SIL assignments and familiarity with IEC 61511.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, operations engineers, purchasers, and other internal personnel.
  • Communicate with clients, suppliers, contractors, and relevant authorities.
 
Educational & Technical Requirements
 
  • BSc in Electrical, Mechanical, Process, or Process Control Engineering.
  • 10-15 years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering in the oil, gas, or petrochemical industry.
  • Background in project management is required.
  • Extensive knowledge of instrumentation and control, including flow, level, pressure, temperature, and process analysis.
  • Proven experience in selecting instruments for process applications.
  • Strong understanding of boiler control, process heater control, and process furnace control per project requirements.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
  • Well-versed in a broad range of national and international standards, particularly ISA, ANSI, ASME, API, NFPA, and IEC.
