Lead Electrical Engineer - Paris

On behalf of a major Oil & Gas operator, WRS are looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer to work in France on a contract basis. This will be a residential position in Paris, on a 6-9 months contract (with potential for renewal), paying a day rate in EURO.

The role will be supporting a Subsea Tieback for an FPSO, which is going into the FEED phase.

Job Duties include:
  • Laise daily with counterpart on Contractor side to monitor the progress of FEED deliverables, anticipate / highlight delays and propose corrective actions when needed.
  • Assist to manage matters on SOR changes, technical queries and derogations to General Specifications, related to Electrical systems.
  • Review contractors MDR and ensure sufficient deliverables are produced by FEED Alliance contractor
  • Monitor and manage the work performed by the FEED Alliance contractor, with the support of the HQ Team; identify any deviation in quality, cost and schedule and make proposals for corresponding mitigation actions.
  • Ensure timely review and approval of all electrical engineering / design documentation produced by FEED Alliance contractor
  • Ensure timely response to contractors’ technical queries and derogation requests and assist the FEED manager and Contracts team in preparing answers to correspondences and Technical clarifications to the FEED Contract.
  • Assess technological risks in contractors’ proposals and help define technical qualification requirements (and PROQUAL) to be performed prior to or during the EPCI phase
Candidate requirements 
  • BSc. Degree holder or equivalent qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline
  • Minimum 15 years - Experience within Oil & Gas projects
  • Minimum 10 years Experience as electrical specialist, in petroleum & gas industry in projects; managing projects effectively at all life-cycle stages of project development (FEED, Basic and Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Installation, Construction, Pre-Commissioning, and Commissioning)
  • Previous experience working for an Operator
  • Previous experience on subsea tieback projects
  • Right to work in the EU
