Marine Terminal Construction Lead

On behalf of a major Oil & Gas operator, WRS are looking for a Maine Terminal Construction Lead to work in Tanzania on a contract, rotational basis. This will be a 12 month renewable contract, rotating 8/2 to site, paying a day rate in USD.

The role will be supporting the construction of a large cross-country crude oil pipeline.


Role: 

• This is a site-based Construction Lead role.
• Responsible for monitoring all construction work.
• To ensure that the construction is in line with the project requirements.
• Coordinate with all parties on site on construction management matters. 
• Manage all technical queries and ensure these are closed-out.
• Liaise with the home office team.
• Monitor all construction against the Project Construction Schedule.
• Ensure that all construction correspondence is via the proper site management channels.
• Monitor all construction, inspection, testing, mechanical completion and handover activities


Experience:

• In the Oil and Gas industry.
• As Construction Lead on several major Oil or Gas Projects
• In construction of marine terminals
• Knowledge required in the project matters associated with oil storage tanks, marine terminals and marine jetty facilities.
• Understanding of the engineering disciplines involved including civils, civil tanks, mechanical, mechanical tanks, structures, piping, instruments, electrical, etc.
• Has knowledge of American, European and British codes.
• Understands the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
• An awareness of project QA / QC procedures and H3SE requirements
• Has dealt with time pressures and concentration levels to meet project requirements and deadlines.
• Has prepared weekly and monthly status reports.
• Will have a good knowledge of site engineering requirements associated with construction through to mechanical completion.
• Handled comprehensive Site Dossiers, Manufacturers Record Books, Site Record Books and Project Record Books.
• Interfacing with international major marine terminal Contractors


Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent)
• Excellent knowledge of construction related issues.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Good supervisory and leadership skills
