On behalf of a major operator, I am searching for a Project Procurement Consultant to be based in Bilbao. This is an initial 12 month contract with the possibility of extension. Please note: You MUST have the right to work in the EU.
In the role as Project Procurement Lead, you will ensure sourcing strategies align to project goals and time schedules, that procurement delivery quality is high and in line with the clients policies and procedures. You build the strong relationships needed with partners and suppliers to successfully deliver construction projects together with your colleagues in other functions.

You build the strong relationships needed with partners and suppliers to successfully deliver construction projects together with your colleagues in other functions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead sourcing projects for equipment and contractors to fulfill the needs of our large construction projects, collaborating closely with colleagues and EPCM partner organizations.
- Maintain sourcing strategies and plans, and work with engineering and construction teams to identify improvements to scopes and designs and to deliver fit-for-project supplier awards.
- Prepare recommendations for award decisions, backed by strong negotiated sourcing outcomes, and support effective decision making with project and procurement management.
- Establish strong relationships with project stakeholders, partners and suppliers, and act as commercial lead for assigned scopes.
Requirements:
- A degree in Engineering, MSc or MBA/Relevant University Degree.
- At least 10 years of relevant procurement experience, including a minimum of five years in a project/capex environment, leading sourcing projects for industrial equipment and/or construction services.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence others, including broad contract negotiation experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English
- A solid experience in, and preference for, digital procurement delivery, to maximize the value of e-tendering, common data and analytics.
