Technical Asset Manager

WRS are recruiting for a Technical Asset Manager to join an experienced renewable energy developer in Ireland. 

WRS are representing one of our client that were established in Ireland in 2011.  The company has a development portfolio of Solar and BESS projects of over 2GW in Ireland. Currently the company is constructing 230MW of Solar PV in Ireland. Following on recent success they will commence construction on a further 300MW in 2023/2024. They continue to focus on their domestic growth strategy whilst expanding our international presence in both Europe and the USA, including the recent acquisition and integration of a US based development team with >3GW of Solar PV under development across a number of States. Our client are offering the opportunity to become part of a high growth company in the fast-moving renewables sector.

Main tasks and activities:
  • Support the asset management activities of the PV assets including management and control of maintenance, billing, production targets and claims management.
  • Monitor the services providers activities (special focus on O&M) to ensure the timely fulfilment of technical and operational obligations and compliance with the contractual terms (responsible for the day to day relationship).
  • Review O&M activities and reporting, support and optimise O&M interventions.
  • Monitoring site performance and production control (availability control, correct performance, PR guarantees…).
  • Site visits and interactions with Technical Advisors.
  • Analyse technical performance of the assets and propose improvements.
  • Efficiency log and report on events.
  • Elaboration of production reports and monthly reports of evaluation of the operation of the facilities identifying current faults and incidents, carry on diagnoses and troubleshooting activities.
  • Communication with key stakeholders (market players, O&M, LTA, land, government and other suppliers or services providers) and production of comprehensive reports as required under the PPA and the financing agreements.
  • Support and lead implementation of technical systems and procedures.
  • Lead asset management platform implementation and development.
  • Become familiar with the all contracts under each SPV to understand the respective obligations of all the involved parties.
  • Review Site Preventative Maintenance Plans (PMP) and monitor performance against objectives.
  • Support implementation of improvement and optimization plans.
  • Support budgeting and cost control activities.
  • Ensuring a high level of compliance with all HSE by all parties involved in the asset.
  • Spare parts management supervision.

The successful applicant will possess expertise in:

 
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Bachelor’s and-or Master’s degree in relevant discipline (Engineering or similar).
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • 5+ years experience within the renewable energy industry with at least 3 years experience working in the implementation and/or asset management/O&M of PV projects.
  • Experience working with PV regulated assets.
  • Technical knowledge of other technologies.
  • Good, demonstrable understanding of the requirements related to Irish regulated PV projects.
  • Must be autonomous and pro-active: develop own workstreams and work across many different functions.
  • Strong aptitude to learn complex concepts (tax rules, energy policy, financial structures, corporate structures, business models, etc.).
  • In-depth technical knowledge of PV and solar assets.
  • Good understanding of legal concepts ruling Asset Management and O&M contracts.
  • Good level of comfort with data management: proficient at extracting and analysing large amounts of data and presenting information in an easy to understand way.
  • Ability to develop and implement report templates, analytical tools, and other O&M specific tools.
  • Good team player with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • High Level of Proficiency with MS Office suite of products (Excel in particular).
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and familiarity with asset management software and tools.
