Assistant Finance Manager

WRS Kurdistan is looking for an Expat candidate to work as Assistant Finance Manager for a well-known international company in Kurdistan.

Job Purpose:
The Assistant Finance Manager will play a vital role in improving and maintaining the financial standing of our companies. The ideal candidate will help determine financial strategy and policy, arrange the appropriate funding and manage financial risks in the organization. The Finance Manager will ensure our companies have the cash and liquidity to meet its obligations, will be involved in securing credit from banks and other sources, tax, HR, and compliance matters. The Finance Manager will be an official point of contact for all financial matters and one of the authorized signatories on all financial documents.

 
Main Responsibilities:
  • Preparing of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annually consolidated financial statements, in accordance with IFRS.
  • Reporting monthly budget and forecasting analysis to departments in Refinery & Power Plant, battery factory and energy projects.
  • Oversee the approval and processing of revenue, expenditure and position control documents, department budgets, mass salary updates, ledger, account maintenance and others.
  • Monthly accounting cycle, including of management of general ledgers and supporting sub-systems.
  • Regularly monitoring and adjusting the cash and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Leverage strengths of the current accounting team members, help to clarify roles and responsibilities and develop and implement training to achieve individual and organizational goals.
  • Proactively identify, develop, & implement enhancements to existing management reporting & business processes.
  • Handle returns of social securities, employee income tax and corporate tax.
  • Manage the working capital of the companies by ensuring that all suppliers are paid accurately and timely, all revenue is collected within agreed terms and cash positions reflect banking terms.
  • Attend meetings with Executive Management and contribute to the discussion at said meetings, to review and strengthen the existing accounting internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Act as a bridge between the operations and finance functions to ensure that all operational results are accurately reflected in the financial record.
  • Maintain a high level of stakeholder relationship includes Ministry of Natural Resource Kurdistan, Iraq oil Ministry, and subcontractors, who are working on various projects.
  • Liaising with external auditors for annual audit activity. 

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
  • Professional qualification CIMA/ACCA/CPA is a plus.
  • Candidates with SME and/or start up experience preferred.
  • 5 years of relevant working experience.
  • Computer literacy including advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with standard accounting software packages.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and organized, with Strong planning and prioritization abilities.
  • Fluent in English and any other language is a plus.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and discretion in all aspects and be comfortable with flexible working schedule to meet the needs of the Company and its executives.
