JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULER

LOCATION: Auburn Hills, MI (travel required to Kokomo, IN)

OBJECTIVE

We are seeking a Construction Scheduler to lead in the developing and maintaining of bid & project schedules using information gained through project documents, reporting data, and observations of construction & installation projects. Using scheduling software, this position will assist project teams with illustrating a project’s paths towards successful execution, exercising decision-making projections, and generating project status reporting data. This position requires experience with construction scheduling. This position requires the individual to work at project sites, as well as our corporate office. Scheduling professionals must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Create visibly comprehensive schedules to accompany estimating bid packages to specified requirements and based on estimated quantities & manpower (cost load, manpower load and resource load schedules).
  • Navigate and populate preliminary and working project schedules with Project Managers using scheduling software.
  • Obtain timely information from key team members related to the execution of support plans, logistics coordination, changes in scope, schedule impacts, etc.
  • Implement subcontractor activities/milestones into master schedules and manage the criteria and methods for exchange of schedule-related information.
  • Update and report the status of projects to project teams and customers using scheduling software and supplementary reporting tools.
  • Manipulate schedules to reflect valuable and concise information specific to the intended audience.
  • Other assigned tasks related to project planning and project management.
  • Assist Senior Project Scheduler in developing a standard schedule management system.
 

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • College Degree - Associates or Bachelor’s in Construction Management or Engineering.
  • Automotive or manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Familiar with ISO standards and document control procedures.
  • Strong administrative skills and attention to detail with paperwork.
  • Enjoys working as a team and has good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of schedule building.
  • General knowledge of schedule logic, precedence, and sequencing.
  • Identify & analyze critical path activities.
  • Ability to read, understand and navigate design drawings.
  • Knowledge of general construction practices.
  • Proficient with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Excel.
