General Manager (IT) – Japanese speaking

Our company has partnered with a Global Internet and E-commerce Company to source for their Technology Team. This role will be based in Singapore with occasional travel to India, China and Japan.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality reporting to senior management and governance committees in support of decision making, including resourcing, delivery prioritization, trend analysis, employee communications, and town hall meetings.
  • Managing horizontal technology services and administrative responsibilities in the Asia Technology Community.
  • Harmonize plans and efforts with Japan's HQ's Technology Divisions.
  • Assist in building and distributing technology communications and represent the technology leadership in formal business updates.
  • An in-depth understanding of Tech Finance, including costing, accounting, tax benefits, and cost efficiency improvement programs is required.
  • Manage IT, Tech Finance, InfoSecurity, Tech General Affairs, and other auxiliary functions to be aligned with strategic objectives of Asia Technology Community.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing cost-saving and process improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the regional technology team, leaders, as well as stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives and operational processes for the business.
  • Working across different technology teams to ensure key business updates and risks are captured and discussed with the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Interact with key partners in the Technology Division, Ad & Marketing Business, Finance & Accounting, Tax, Governance, Human Resources, vendor management, and IT departments.
 
Job Requirements
  • At least 10+ years' progressive experience in the technology sector, preferably within a technology organization.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in the Japanese language (written/ spoken) is highly favourable as required to communicate with Japanese stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience assembling, analyzing, and synthesizing data from multiple sources.
  • Ability to cultivate positive relationships with global stakeholders and team members.
  • Strong financial acumen, numerate and able to understand financial operational impacts, notably with experience working towards qualifying tax benefits schemes.
  • Experience communicating and presenting complex information to multiple levels of the organization.
  • Highly motivated with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Strong ability to work in a cross-region matrix environment, collaborative with culturally diverse teams.
  • Strong level of proficiency in MS-Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Previous team management experience would be an advantage. Experience of working in a highly matrixed managed and cross-regional environment would also be beneficial.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving, taking ownership of issues, and having tenacity to drive solutions through to a conclusion with good judgement.
  • Quick learner with strong attention to detail.
