Role Overview:
 
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Development & Permissions Manager to bolster the team in Stirling. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in steering the development, permissions, and environmental oversight for our onshore projects, particularly in support of our offshore endeavours.
 
Initially focusing on early-phase development, your responsibilities will encompass the entire project life cycle, including site selection, securing project permissions, conducting Environmental Impact Assessments, ensuring compliance with consent conditions, overseeing construction-phase permissions, and managing operational-phase consents and environmental adherence.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Collaborate with external planning and specialised consultants, planning authorities, and stakeholders to secure permissions (planning consent).
  • Bring relevant development expertise to a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Demonstrate the capability to translate technical intricacies into commercial implications.
  • Exhibit robust planning and analytical skills, anticipating and proactively addressing potential issues, and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Proven track record in selecting and overseeing external consultants and subject matter experts for permission-related activities.
  • Possess 3-5 years of onshore or offshore industry experience, with a clear focus on project permissions and development, guiding projects through the permissions process.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory framework in Scotland.
  • Thrive in high-pressure environments, adept at meeting challenging deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to agreed budgets and timelines.
  • Post-permission compliance oversight.
  • Experience in engaging with landowners and reviewing terms of agreement, options, and lease drafts.
  • Familiarity with grid interface, connection applications, and offers.
 
Education:
 
  • Hold a degree relevant to development, planning, environmental assessment, or permissions activities.
