Sr. Structural Engineer
Position: Contract to Perm
Location: Richmond, CA (can work remote but must be Northern California)

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform structural engineering design, including preparation and checking of engineering calculations and design sketches for steel structures, equipment foundation, piling and concrete foundations. Perform checking of structural drawings.
- Coordinate with and gather information from other disciplines and owner, with knowledge of the impact of other discipline design data on structural design
- Prepare structural calculations and drawings based on latest building codes and industry standards, structural MTOs, scope of work documents and other engineering deliverables
- Prepare/review specifications and reports
- Supervise, guide and mentor junior and intermediate designers and/or engineers
- Visit job site, perform job walk and take necessary measurements.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in structural engineering including Oil & Gas facilities with experience in design and retrofit of Facilities and Plants
- A minimum B.S. degree in Structural Engineering
- Registered as civil or structural engineer in California
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status.
- Experience in design of steel structures, pipe racks, concrete structures, and equipment foundation
- Strong knowledge of CBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI-318, and ASCE 41
- Proficient with structural analysis software STAAD-PRO, STAAD Foundation, Mat3D and Foundation..
- Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work.
- A sound knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the structural engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
- A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Competent use of structural engineering specific software.
- Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
- Substantial technical land practical experience in structural engineering in the same or similar industry including experience in working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
