Community Outreach Officer
Job description
Position: Community Outreach Officer
Location: Erbil
Open to: Locals Only
work type: Full-time
Overview:
-Responsible for developing and implementing outreach strategies to engage community members, raise awareness about our programs, and ensure that our initiatives align with community needs and interests.
- Responsibilities: -Act as the primary liaison between the NGO and local communities. -Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, organizations, and residents.
-Organize community meetings, workshops, and events to gather feedback, disseminate information, and foster dialogue.
-Conduct surveys and assessments to understand community needs, preferences, and concerns.
-Develop and implement outreach plans to raise awareness about NGO programs, services, and initiatives.
-Represent the organization at community events, fairs, and conferences. -Identify opportunities for community-driven projects and initiatives and provide technical assistance as needed.
-Facilitate workshops and skill-building sessions to empower community members to take ownership of their development.
-Track and report on outreach activities, including attendance, feedback, and outcomes.
-Collect qualitative and quantitative data to measure the effectiveness of community engagement efforts.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in social sciences, community development, communications, or a related field.
-Previous experience in community outreach, mobilization, or organizing, -preferably within the NGO sector.
-Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse communities.
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
-Fluent in Kurdish & English.
