Project Controls Manager
Location: Denver, CO
Schedule: Hybrid 2 days/week in office
Salary: Starting at $68.74/hr
12 Month Contract
 
The Project Controls Manager will provide management oversight to the project controls team, including cost and planning, on EPC projects in addition to:
  • Professionally supervise and train junior planners, schedulers, cost controllers, and other technical staff
  • Liaise with clients and senior leaders to ensure business objectives are met, keeping them updated on progress, forecasts, and any applicable scheduling changes
  • Coordinate with project team to ensure the correct utilization of the project control system based on specific requirements and guidelines
  • Develop, interpret, and implement policies and procedures that adhere to global standards
  • Manage quality development of the project controls team that tracks, monitors and reports all aspects of the projects
  • Responsible for employee onboarding for planned activities
  • Responsible for constraint activity planning with specific gate criteria, including Work Orders, Management of Change, Work Packs, and Materials and Permits
  • Facilitate risk mitigation and contingency planning processes
Scheduling:
  • Utilize Primavera P6 in managing all planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, analysis, and ongoing recommendations for improvement
  • Develop Schedule Basis Memorandum, scheduling premise, and communicate forecast to project manager
  • Responsible for actual and forecast progress curves and staffing histograms  
  • Monitor and control schedules by performing critical path analysis and earned value analysis
  • Schedule waivers for activity failures and traffic light status reports
  • Develop and manage probabilistic risk assessments to deliver schedule estimates employing proprietary software
  • Maintain and manage risk registers
Cost:
  • Review target budgets in conjunction with EPC management
  • Provide cost control services to project teams to ensure cost management
  • Review and communicate productivity trends
  • Responsible for estimating construction projects, including lump sum and cost reimbursable projects
Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of lead experience
  • Strong understanding of cost and scheduling, with experience using Primavera
  • Experience managing maintenance and capital expenditure projects
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Engineering
  • Experience with O&G, natural gas, or a process facility
  • Strong accounting background
