I am searching for a Business Development Manager Solar for the UK.

My client focuses on solar power projects development, construction and project financing services. With local professional teams in more than 10 countries in Europe and operating around all continents, the business is spread across a number of regions where the solar power project markets are growing rapidly and can sustain that growth due to improved clarity and around government policies.
The Company’s strategy is to pursue high-margin project development opportunities in these markets, specifically in the US and Europe, where the Company has a market leading position in several geographies, including Poland, France, Hungary, Spain, Germany, UK. In the future, the Company will leverage its global presence and solid experience to further drive sustainable green energy development.

We are currently offering the position as “Business Development Manager”, based in the United Kingdom.

The ideal candidate will have experience as Project Manager in the renewable environment, being able to identify high solar projects and is hands-on and willing to grow with us.

Responsibilities
• Identify high potential solar projects
• Assist throughout identification, evaluation, and assessment of solar projects for investment;
• Negotiate and sign lease agreements;
• Deal with authorities to get all necessary permission to build and operate solar plants;
• Communicate and take care with our engineers for the technical design of each plant;
• Managing relationships with local authorities, utilities, and the regulators;
• Interacting with legal, tax, technical, and insurance advisors;
• Control projects until ready-to-build status and also participating in the auction and sale process.

Position Requirements
• 3+ years’ experience in energy sector or project related environment
• Bachelor’s degree in economics, Technical, Law, or relatable area.
• Familiarity with the authorization process for zoning, environmental/ building codes, and land/ grid connection conditions;
• Ability to assess energy projects from an economical and legal perspective;
• Ability to work independently and proactively approach stakeholders;
• Excellent computer skills including MS Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems;
• Language capabilities: English and any other language an asset.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally when required and work flexibly with hours. You are pro-active, and a structured team player with a high degree of responsibility and entrepreneurial thinking (the safety and well-being of our people continues to be the top priority, and our decisions around travel are informed by government COVID-19 response directives, recommendations from leading health authorities and guidance from a number of infectious disease experts.)
